“The International Committee of the Rotary Club of Northallerton has embraced a range of projects in the past five years :- raising over £3,000 in partnership with local schools and businesses for Water Aid. Supporting the training of two young people through Teacher Training in Africa, responding promptly to appeals for aid in Disaster areas, and providing Shelter Boxes which can be quickly brought in to use as and when needed.

Our Club has supported the York Ainsty Club for over 20 years in the collection of spectacles for re-prescribing to people in Africa

The most exciting and rewarding projects have been in Nepal, working with the Rotary Club of the Himalayan Ghurkas in Kathmandu to support the education and well-being of communities in a remote, deprived area of Nepal.
The provision of computers and appropriate support is both increasing the educational opportunities of the young, and enabling access to a wide range of services, not least in Health and Commerce. The practicalities of daily living in a challenging environment have been supported through the provision of a thriving Goat Bank. We plan to work closely with our partners to steadily lay down foundations for a better world to those in great need – Service above Self is not an idle boast, and our Rotarians who have worked tirelessly to bring these projects to such successful outcomes are great examples of what can be achieved by the few for the many.”.
